Firewürst Donates $10,000 To The Food Bank Of Central & Eastern North Carolina
Firewürst, the leading provider of premium flame-grilled sausages, burgers and hot dogs, donated $10,000 to North Carolina children in need through the Food Bank of Central and Eastern North Carolina's Stop Summer Hunger Campaign. The Firewürst contribution will allow the Food Bank to provide an additional 50,000 meals to children across 34 counties in Central and Eastern North Carolina.
On July 1, Firewürst set out to serve 10,000 hot dogs during National Hot Dog Month, pledging $10,000 of its proceeds to the Food Bank in support of its efforts to ensure no child goes hungry during the summer months, and on Aug. 4 Firewurst presented the $10,000 contribution to leaders of the Food Bank.
Firewürst, a family-owned business with three locations in the area committed to serving customers high quality, sausages, burgers and dogs, has a strong dedication to serving their local community. The Stop Summer Hunger campaign allowed the restaurant to raise money to address food scarcity among local children by providing for those in need during a time when well-balanced meals are hard to come by.
Along with the Stop Summer Hunger campaign in July, Firewürst also celebrated National Hot Dog Day on July 23, where they welcomed 1,167 customers in the doors and served 2,100 dogs at their three Triangle locations.
"We are proud of the way the community came together to help us reach our goal of selling 10,000 hot dogs during July to help support the Food Bank's Stop Summer Hunger campaign," said Bill Morgenstern, CEO of Firewürst. "We can't thank our local community members enough for their continued support and dedication in helping us to achieve our goal. We are committed to serving our neighbors in need, and will continue our efforts in providing children and their families nutritious and wholesome meals."
"We are grateful for the all of the hard work the Firewürst team put in to help support our Stop Summer Hunger program," said Peter Werbicki, president and CEO of the Food Bank of Central & Eastern North Carolina. "Their donation will have an incredible impact on the organization and those we serve, and we thank Firewürst for helping us to provide 50,000 meals to make sure no child goes hungry this summer."
